Sometime on the morning of Sunday, April 27th, my Chrysler Pacifica dad-mobile will roll out of my driveway in Akron, Ohio, and I’ll be bound for Indianapolis, the site of CX Leaders Advance, April 28th-30th.
I’ve always loved a good Midwest road trip and prefer it to flying if the timing works out. And our conference’s relative proximity to my home—a few hundred miles from point to point--offers the perfect chance for it. And what’s a road trip without a good playlist?
I wanted to share a few songs I’ll be rocking out to as I head west on I-70:
Around the World—Daft Punk
This song just puts me in a good mood, and ready to spend time with attendees around the world at CX Leaders Advance. We’re also highlighting “around the world” CX business impact through sessions like “CX in a Multinational Context” featuring Lenovo’s Jerry Pasierb and Forsta’s Mark Ratekin, CCXP.
I Want to Break Free—Queen
Freddie Mercury was surely singing about breaking free of a toxic relationship, but something about this song puts me in a mindset to break free of old thought patterns and ideas to make space for the new. Jim Tincher, CCXP, invites attendees to break free in his session “The CX Disconnect—Why the C-Suite Isn’t Thinking About It—And How to Change That.”
Now or Never—Kendrick Lamar
“I said a planet is a short-term goal/No sky is the limit.” The vibe of this song is one of celebration—both of how far Kendrick has come and how far he still has to go. And that’s the theme of Tabitha Dunn’s “Growing Your CX Leadership Series,” that focuses on the career arc of the CX leader. This series will help you grow influence and impact—or as Kendrick says, “Breathe in lungs of a victory—and vividly.”
Check out the full agenda here, and drop me a line and let me know what songs we should add to our CX Leaders Advance playlist!
P.S. Our hotel reservation deadline is coming up on April 4th. If you’ve been thinking about coming, now would be a good time to make your reservation!
