Reflections on My Term as Chair of the CCXP Advisory Committee

By Benjamin Easaw, CCXP posted 28 days ago

As I conclude my term as Chair of the CCXP Advisory Committee, I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you - the dedicated members of the Committee, the CXPA Global Board, and the extended CXPA community. It has been an honor to serve alongside such passionate professionals who share a common vision for advancing customer experience as a discipline. Together, we’ve worked to elevate the CCXP program, ensuring its value and relevance for our thriving community of CX professionals.

This year has been a significant one for the CCXP program. Together, we successfully implemented the CCXP recertification timeframe from two to three years, a change designed to bring greater flexibility and value to our current and future CCXP’s. This change not only reflects the evolving needs of CCXPs but also ensures that maintaining certification remains an accessible and sustainable process. Some of the major updates are:

  • The process will now be called “Recertification” rather than “Certification renewal” to reduce confusion with CXPA individual membership renewal.
  • Certification periods will now be three years long rather than two years long to reduce the frequency of filing paperwork and paying fees. The minimum credit hours are now 30.
  • Streamline professional development categories into two key areas: Education and Professional Leadership.
  • The primary recertification emphasis is on taking real-time education to keep current with evolving CX practice, but a variety of additional options are accepted for those who are unable to complete real-time education.
  • Initiating opportunities to research and learn more about our CCXP community.

We also made strides in enhancing the overall CCXP program, ensuring it remains a gold standard in the customer experience profession. Importantly, we have begun to strengthen our connection with the broader CCXP community, incorporating feedback from Recognized Training Providers (RTPs) to drive meaningful improvements.

These successes were not mine alone and were only possible because of the collective dedication and passion of the Committee. I want to give special thanks to my colleagues on the Committee - @AndyGarlikov, @TammieHolt, @DebiPotgieter, @SayedSharafudeen, @ShawnSilzer, @SandraStorey and @CamilleTrim-Dingwell, for their dedication, insights, and partnership.  I am also deeply grateful to Adrienne Bryant, whose commitment and expertise as a CXPA staff member have been instrumental in our success. Working alongside such talented and passionate individuals has been a true privilege.

As I step away from this role, I do so with hope and anticipation. The progress we’ve made is only the beginning of what I know will be an extraordinary future for the CCXP program and the entire CXPA community. Thank you for entrusting me with this opportunity and for the meaningful work we’ve accomplished together. I look forward to continuing to support CXPA in new ways and seeing the remarkable achievements that lie ahead.

Sincerely,

Benjamin Easaw, CCXP
